I am very interested in this laptop at Futureshop, but I cannot find many reviews on it online. Does anyone have this laptop? Is it a good laptop for simple movie watching, internet, word processing? I really also wanted to know if the fan stays quiet or if the laptop heats up a lot. I dont need it for games.

Toshiba A300-034 ($750 Canadian at Futureshop):

    Thanks for your help!

I was looking at a Toshiba very similar to this (A300-05U at Staples, basically the same model but with a discrete video card). For what you described I think this computer is a good choice. Some people aren't a fan of the styling but having handled it in person I must say I really like it. There is a review on this site for a Toshiba A300 and it received an Editor's choice but they did say this about fan noise : "Thermal performance of the Toshiba A305 was above average, with mild fan noise at low and high speeds, and the notebook staying relativity cool during game play."

    Hope this helps =)
