I have purchased a Tosiba Sattelite Laptop A505-S6965 TODAY (Aug. 4).

The Media Control Buttons at the top of keyboard do not work at all. Does anybody know how to activate them?

    Thanks

Reinstall Toshiba value added package. They should do away with software controls of media buttons and lights and put it in BIOS menu.

What hardware setup utility/BIOS version do you have? The latest drivers are HERE.

Is there any way I can talk to you? I have installed all updated and the buttons still do not work.

You may know a way to help me out of this situation

    Thanks

I initially had problems with media buttons had to uninstall and re-install TVAP a couple of times. Check device manager in control panel if you think hardware.

If it has never worked and everything is correctly installed, I'm afraid it is a hardware problem...

That's frustrating. I am unable to install Toshiba Value Added Package. It sends an error message at the begining that there is a duplicate file, although I have unistalled the old value added package.

Which version did you uninstall? I have the same problem with media buttons with Windows 7. I solved the problem by uninstalling the Windows 7 version of TVAP and installing the Vista 64 version. You are going to have to manually remove TVAP by going computer>program files>TVAP>right click select delete. Also look computer>x86 program files>TVAP>right click select delete. Run CCleaner registry cleaner and restart. Reinstall Vista version TVAP.

There is no button support that works with the Windows 7 version of TVAP that I have found. The only option under button support with that version is mute, and that doesn't even work.

I did not get this section. How can I clean registry? I already deleted the TVAP folders in program files

I recommend "Error Nuker". Look it up on Google, you got to pay for it though :p

I deleted the TVAP folders, ran the CCleaner program and cleared the registry, restarted laptop and tried to reinstall the TVAP program, but it failed to get installed. There is still an error message that another copy of TVAP is already installed.

Any other idea to fix the problem?

Open CCleaner by right clicking on it and select "run as administrator", click tools, look at uninstall and see if TVAP is there if it is delete it, look at startup, see if TVAP is there, again delete it, restart, try to install TVAP.

You might also need to go to control panel>programs and feature>uninstall flash cards.

    ctrl+alt+del>task manager>show all processes>TcrdMain>end process.

start>type msconfig.exe>startup tab>look for TVAP>uncheck the box. You will have to hover the cursor over the items till you find flashcards and tvap, uncheck the boxes.

Useless effort. This one did not work either. There is NO trace of TVAP anywhere, but the error message is still popping up "Another version of TVAP already installed, Remove it first"
