I have a Toshiba Tecra A6 notebook that has just started occasionally freezing when it displays the XP splash screen. Rebooting it usually solves the problem but its getting really annoying. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this problem?

maybe change the device config option in the BIOS from "OS" to "all devices".

I seem to have solved the problem by giving the notebook a good cleanout (deleting old files, uninstalling programs, defrag etc). Thanks for the suggestion though - I will remember that if the problem comes back.
