    Hi everyone,

I've owned a Toshiba A60 (UK version) for two years now, and it's been nothing but trouble in the last year. I want to use it for ripping CD's, using and updating my 30GB iPod, playing the odd PC game, Internet use and, most importantly, especially for someone about to do his finals at uni, my work. Anything that involves keeping the processor busy cuts the PC off, as does trying to use the CD drive at a fast speed (it gets faster and faster when, for example, ripping a CD, then cuts off.)

Has anyone else had these problems and what is the best brand of PC or laptop to buy as a replacement?

    Alex
