I'm having some IRQ conflict issues and I'm under the assumption that the Phoenix BIOS that my Satellite comes with does not allow for a non-PnP OS where I can manually reassign the IRQs.

Is there anyway I can solve an IRQ sharing problem aside from reinstalling the OS or changing to "Standard PC" mode ??

Both of those are very, very risky and I have a LOT of programs/data I cannot put in jeopardy.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you're running Windows XP or even Windows 98 on this notebook, you should not be getting ANY IRQ conflicts. The OS's were designed to eliminate this problem. You can try going into Windows and under the Device Manager, you might be able to chnage the properties of the device (IRQ, memory locations, etc...), but there's the possibility that it may not help or might not even be changable. If that's the case, then I believe you're out of luck from making any manual changes.

What OS are you running? What IRQ is in conflict? What device(s) is causing the problem?
