I Call Toshiba for these probleme, and i tell them about the probleme. And tell them Im not the only one with these kind of problem. They tell me They found how to repaire it[ :)], They send me a box when i juste need to put my laptop on it, they juste have to change a '' file'' (french) , something in english, lol, in the laptop.
    So the Answer is:
    Call Toshiba at 1-800-663-0378
    Explaine your probleme
and they suppost to resend you a box and put your laptop on it
I like the way Toshiba repair the computer

There is a well documented issue with this series of laptop related to static discharge. I strongly suspect that the sound cards are the first to get damaged by the static (including mine). I brought it for repair, and was informed that Toshiba is now recognizing this problem, but there is a parts backlog of 1 to 2 months. There is also a class action suit.
