    Hi,

I am owner of Toshiba A75 S209 with Mobile Pentium 4 3.06 GHz HT processor and ATI RC300ML chipset. The problem is that fans are really loud and laptop shutdown often (too high temperature I think). Can I install CPU Pentium M Dothan in this laptop ??? Theoretically this operation should give significant temperature drop and fans should not work constantly. I worry only about BIOS compatibility and temp. sensor settings.

Most likely it is shutting down and the fans run on high due to heat sinks being blocked. Very common issue on this model. Get some canned air and blow through the vents.
