    Hy All,
I installed in my L500D-16k the 10.7 drivers from ATI site, using the method of setting the video board to Standard VGA adapter.
In past I also used in my other ATI-powered notebooks drivers directly from ATI site, with no problems.
However, lately I have encountered a post (I do not remember where though) that said that the ATI drivers from TOSHIBA site - really old one - support some thermal protection, something like power down or throtle if the adapter is too hot.
Now, did anyone checked the files from TOSHIBA drivers against the files from ATI original drivers to see if there is any difference, except the check for Vendor ID when installing the drivers pack?
I would really like to install the 10.8...but now, I'm starting to feel a little afraid, taking into consideration that my laptop model is heating a lot .
    Thanks!
