hi guys im new to this forum, so if this thread in mentioned in another posting please redirect me ,thanks

    i have a toshiba c650 my wife gave me for christmas...woot .
its very nice...better then my old one a acer aspire 3680 :(
the only thing im trying to do with right now is adjusting the graphic memory in it , the max graphic memory it has is 1756mb but i cant see how much im using,i would like to see how much im using and be able to increase it or decrease it when ever i please. but i cant seem to find out how i can. i have tried going thru the bios but i cant find it there.
i have Googled it and still no luck.
i dont think my laptop is using all the graphic memory it has. i played world of warcraft with it and the frame rate is low , around 18-20 fps, i think it should be higher if the laptop is using all of its graphic memory.
my acer aspire 3680 has the same frame rate, around 18-20 fps and its graphic memory is 256mb.

if any has an idea on how i can change my graphic memory please let me know. i would appreciate it.
    thanks

I think the C650 has integrated graphics so the system ram is shared with the graphics. I am not sure about newer systems but on older systems I have seen some adjustments in the drivers pertaining to ram usage so you might look there.

I looked it up and it states that your new laptop has Intel HD integrated graphics (OR if your processor is AMD, then it's ATI integrated graphics). The enormous number they give you for video-RAM is actually your system-RAM, like Wilson said.

Here's Toshiba's website showing basic specs of the c650 series.

Dedicated graphics is almost always faster and more powerful than integrated.

*EDIT* but yes, the NEW integrated graphics is A LOT better than the older generation integrated graphics.

    Good luck!

your right Dedicated graphic is better then integrated graphics.
from what i understand is that the graphic memory will adjust to what ever program i am using.
but what would like to know is how do i view what graphic memory i am currently using and if i can change the graphic memory.

    thanks again for ur time

Sorry, That I do not know.
I'm running out the door, but when I get back I'll do some research, as I too want to know the answer.

    Good luck!

What i have discovered so far is that if i go to the display settings and click the advance button and then the troubleshoot tab i should be able to access the hardware accelerator option.
But in my case when i choose the troubleshoot tab all i get is the Change Settings button and its grayed out.
I think i have exhausted all my options.
