    Where are they located?
    Reliable place to order from?

I am ready to order a Toshiba A305-S6845 but where?
Will they come down in price any time soon for me to wait?

    Thanks,
    Urlee

I just ordered a Satellite Pro U400 from them, we'll see how it goes. They quote "one to two weeks" until it ships out, I hope it's on the lower side. It was about $50 higher there than at Newegg, but toshibadirect has a 15-day return window with no restocking fee, while Newegg doesn't let you return notebooks for a refund at all. For a notebook, where you really need to have it in your hands for a few days to know if you like it, I wanted to have the option to return it.

I ordered mine from Toshiba Direct. No problems, but they did take pretty much the full 2 weeks to deliver. But mine was configure to order. I think it is better to order direct like this as you can Spec the machine exactly the way you want.

If you follow this link you will see the A300 -- which is exactly the A305 except you can configure to order. I highly recommend doing this unless you are sure that the A305 is spec'd exactly as you want it. Otherwise, you will be able to upgrade (or downgrade) the processor, video card, hard drive, etc. so it is just as you want it.

Thanks so much Trwrt & Tim,

When I was searching for the S6845, I was sent to the Toshiba site itself, already made up like I had seen & read specs on elseware and don't know what I should change without making the $$ go higher.
This is going to be my first, so I pray I am not disappointed.
Am getting excited as I was having a hard time picking.

Urlee, I am glad u got the notebook ordered..

To answer your orignal question, toshiba Direct is not a seperate company.. It is the e-commerce side for Toshiba. So when you buy from them, you are buying direct from the manufacturer...

    SHAWNEEK,

So sorry,---- I did not order it yet as I was tossing it around with getting a camcorder but decided to go ahead with the laptop when I find a place to order if cheaper than T if possible and reliable. Otherwise will go with T site.

    Thanks for your reply here.

Yeah, give 'em a call. When I ordered they patched me through to someone in operations who had all the details about when certain models were going to be in stock, and who was able to change my order to a model that was going to be available sooner.

I did call and they suggested the S6861 but I have to think on that.
