    Hi All,

I have a Satellite M115 Toshiba laptop and I am trying to use the Toshiba Disc Creator software that is bundled with the computer.

I am trying to make a copy of a 4.7 GB DVD and have not been successful. I am theorizing that the Toshiba Disc Creator software is not able to accomadate DVDs of this size.

Is this true and if so, is there any other way that I can copy the DVD with the software currently on my laptop.

    Thanks in advance.

    Bob :)

The software has nothing to do with the size it can accommodate. What sort of DVD are you trying to copy.

    Hi Adinu,

I am trying to copy a Sony DVD-R 120Min/4.7 GB DVD to another Sony DVD. I have done the same thing successfully with a Gateway computer using different software.

I am able to make an image file which is 812KB. When I click on it to write to the target disc, I get the following message "The target drive cannot write a disc from the image file. Please select another file"

The reason that I suspected that this image file may be too big is that there is a thermometer in the Toshiba Disc Creator window which reads 122.1%, 794 MB which is maxxed out.

I'm not asking what brand the DVD is, I'm asking what's on the DVD. Is it a movie, a game, other software, or just data?

    JPG files.

I just performed a simple experiment. I copied a few files (various types) from my Gateway computer to a DVD. On the Toshiba laptop, I was not able to copy them to a DVD but I copied them successfully to a CD.

I'm wondering if I have a read only capability for DVDs on my Toshiba. How do I tell?

    Thanks again.

    Bob
