I can't find much mention about this laptop, I'm assuming its pretty new, and not out yet...

And as for the specs, I'll bold the impressive bits:

That's amazing specs, putting it similar to what the Sony Vaio SB's are... especially if the CPU can be upgraded. I think the Battery running time would likely be some form of a slice battery (to x2 the battery life).

But anyway, is there any more information anyone else knows about this laptop?

I think the "Dynabook" series is a Japanese only series of laptops. I think the 18 hr battery comes from: the SSD drive and the upgraded battery [US models allow upgrade to 9W battery over a 6W].

HOWEVER, that laptop looks very similar to the Toshiba Portege [American/European]:

You can also customize a Portege to have the specs as the Dynabook you mentioned.

There's also a Best Buy model that is very inexpensive and offers great value:
    Toshiba - Portege Laptop / Intel® Core™ i3 Processor / 13.3" Display / 4GB Memory / 640GB Hard Drive - Blue - R835-P50x

    Good luck

So you can go over to Toshiba US site in Spec the Portege R830-ST8300 to the same specs as above for about $1600 USD...

    Taken from: Portege R830-ST8300

    Looks like it :D

I would also get the 2 yr On-Site warranty upgrade for an extra $100. The repairer comes to your house/work a few days after calling Customer Support.

    **EDIT**
You may also want to check our the Toshiba Tecra. It's exactly the same as the Portege, but offers either a 14" or 15" screen (you choose). Can also upgrade to a 1.0 GB RADEON 6450 GPU.

Do these Dynabooks come with a matte display like the models you get from Toshiba or a glossy display like the Best Buy models? Is their a chance the screen could be better than what is on either version of the R830?

These are great specs, was taken aback by how good it seems.. Thanks for pointing out that the dynabook was japan localised too, and that you can customize to get one similar to here.

I wonder what the build quality is like on them.

I've not handled the new gen but Toshiba business class machines have always felt solid and these are magnesium and honeycomb so they should be good...
