This new "Blue Label" laptop would be nice if it were the new trend for Toshiba laptops. It has a backlit keyboard, 2 year warranty, and touch media buttons. It is also only 1.2" thick and is flat like a Macbook. Have any NBRers out there tried one out yet?

bringing this back up. anyone who bought this laptop? I saw in a video review that the keyboard has alot of flex. anyone with feedback on this little puppy.

I agree with you Salientpilot. would be nice for toshiba to go this new trend.

If they had the option for dedicated video card it would be hot.

I spent some time with both 'Blue Label' models recently. The kid at Best Buy was cool and let me spent about 10 minutes with the Toshiba Satellite E105-S1402 and HP Pavilion dv3510nr. Both represent a very good value, especially at their current price of $999.

My personal choice would probably be the Toshiba, just because I hate HP's Bronze finish. The HP has the benefit of discrete graphics and an LED-backlit display. The HP is also a bit smaller at 13.3" vs. 14.1" for the Toshiba.

Both models have 64-bit Vista Home Premium, 4GB RAM, 320GB Hard Drives, Wireless-N, Bluetooth, Fingerprint Reader, Back-lit Keyboard, 1-year Norton and 2-year Warranty. I don't think you could go wrong with all those features for $999!
