I had an old Toshiba Equium EA60-191 lying around, it used to work until the AC input snapped off inside the 2.5 mm jack. I did not pay for it nor is it under any warranty so I took it upon myself to replace the Jack and Lead to see if I could, inexpensively, get it working again.

All appeared to go well. I followed a step by step guide stripping and putting it back together (with the new jack)

When I now Power it up it cuts out?

When plugged in, the mains light is lit and the battery charges, But when turning it on the fan starts up but it all cuts out after about four seconds.

Anyone know what the problem could be?

(Admittedly the ground cable from the screen snapped but I re-soldered it back to the metal plate it snapped from)

    Thanks alot
