Hi thanks for reading my post. Laptop is Toshiba A215-S7444. Here's the problem: After being frustrated for several hours about not having any disk partitioning software that works with Vista, and after finally figuring out Vista has a built in disk management utility, I partitioned 50gb as a new drive figuring I would be able to install Windows XP on the new partition (D :) and still have the option to boot to Vista if I wanted. Boy was I wrong! OS on D:/ boots fine (xp), but now I can't get into Vista anymore! I made a boot CD with Acronis disk director suite to see what was going on with C:/, now when I go to explore drive C:/ contents there is nothing there! Same when I boot XP and look at C:/ in windows explorer. I know I didn't format it, the OS and all data are still there, I just can't access it. What the heck have I done??

This might be better served in the Windows OS and Software forum. You could ask a mod to move it for you.
