Hi all, this is my first post so here we go:

I am very interested in the new Toshiba Satellite L645 – 1013/1015/1026 (different numbers for different colors) specifications remain the same.
It will come with pre-install OS (OEM version) Home Premium.
I know I can make a recovering disk in case of any problems but my question is:
What about if I have a HDD crush and the disk must be replaced??
Do I have to go out and buy a new Original Win 7 Home Premium or there is a way to go around this problem?
For what I have been told the recovering disk will only fix problems (hopefully) but can’t install the OS.
    Thanks for your answers.

Haven't yet checked out Toshiba's recovery disks, but recovery disks from other manufacturers *will* reinstall the OS. Note that there's a difference between a set of recovery disks & a system repair disk. It appears that what you're describing (will only fix problems but can't install the OS) is the system repair disk.

On my HP, the system repair disk creator is under Maintenance-I think that's a Windows 7 standard. The recovery disk creator is under Recovery Manager-but I believe that varies depending on the manufacturer. (So far my only Windows 7 PC's are HP/Compaq.)
