    My toshiba m35 does not connect with my cell phone (samsung e700) via infrared. Any thoughts?

    Have you started a data transfer between the phone & notebook? I think a phones infrared port is idle until you start a transfer, the notebook should pick it up automatically after that (built into XP). This is just a guess, never sent anything via infrared before.
