    Hi All,
I just got the Toshiba M35x-S109 and this is my first lap-top. When I put a screensaver on with a black background and at startup when it is on the black screen, I have something similar to a white spot showing up on the screen. At first I thought it was the glare from the sun as I am sitting by a window but as I moved around with it and it was night the glare never goes away. I dont see anything when running the laptop at all, only when I am in a black screen. It really wont bother me accept when watching movies and the scenes change, I will always see it. Also, I had the security screen up and when people came to visit it's noticeable enough that they are asking what that spot is. Should I take this back? Since I have only used it since Christmas Day will they exchange it or will they send it in for repair already..I bought it at CompUsa.
If this is normal, should I just leave it alone.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Robin

I have the exact same laptop. And I have a screen problem too! However, it is much different mine shows all kinds of cyan, and magenta pixels all over the screen. It seems to me that the S109 have a lot of screen problems; for whatever reason. I am so mad about it. But, if you can return you should because I called Toshiba about the problem and they gave me all this crap about getting it fixed. I wish I could return mine!

    Robin,
There should not be any "white" spots on your LCD. This might happen if the LCD is defective or installed incorrectly (torquing the screen or pressure from the back of the LCD at a certain spot will cause the light to be brighter in that certain spot). I'd get the unit replaced if you can and have it tested before you leave the store. If not, it will generally need the LCD replaced.

    Toshibam35x,
If your LCD is displaying discolored pixels all over the place, this could be a couple things.

    1. Defective LCD, get LCD replaced
    2. Loose connection, get notebook serviced and have connection tightened
    3. Defective video card, get unit serviced and have video card replaced (if seperate module), if not, get systemboard replaced

    Good Luck!
