    Hello,

My GF is got a Toshiba M40. With most new DELL computers, there is an instant image restore when you press CRTL-F11 at startup. Does this Toshiba come with image restore of some sort? If not, she's got three CDs:

    Recovery DVD rom
    Recovery DVD Express media player
    Windows XP Home

Can I restore the image from any of these CDs or must I reformat using the XP CD? If reformat is the answer, which one has all the drivers?

    Thanks all.

I believe the way it works is that you install the OS using the XP Home CD then use the Recovery DVD to restore all the drivers/software that was previously installed. That's how my HP works, but I didn't know Toshiba used this method. I thought they used a recovery Ghost type image, but it's possible they changed.

If the driver's aren't located on that disc, it's best to download the drivers from the Toshiba webiste before starting and burn to CD, just to be on the safe side.
