Hi. I would like to know if any of the owners of this model have the same problem as I did. I recently purchased this laptop and the system would freeze everytime I switched from battery to AC. I exhchanged it for another one and it has the same problem. It was fine when I tested it at the store but after a few days, I encountered similar problem. When the laptop was turned on using the battery, the system would freeze up as soon as I plugged it into the AC. Anyone who owns this model has similar problem? I am thinking of swaping it for Sony Vaio VGN FS550. ANy suggestions? Thanks

I have been researching this computer and have seen at least two other reviews of the computer that said they had this problem. I looked on amazon and a few other places. I am also leaning toward the sony, although there is very little info in the format of reviews and ratings. If you have found any on the FS550 or FS570 I would love to know.

I think I'm in the same boat with you guys, but I have to warn you...as cool as the FS looks, it appears to have been built with older and often substandard components. Also, its battery life is as shameful as the M45's. All this wouldn't be a major problem in a $1100 machine...but the FS costs plenty.
I really don't think it's the computer to buy right now...all style, not much substance. -
I have read about this guy who exchanged his Toshiba for a Sony because he had the same problem I mentioned earlier on. He also complained about the weak wireless internet connection with the Toshiba model. He said he has no such problems with the Sony. I have read two other people complaining about bad wireless connection with the Toshiba. Not to put Toshiba down because I have read quite a lot of good reviews as well. It seems like these are some of the more prevalent problems with this model. Sony FS550's design is sleek and all but in my opinion, the Toshiba one looks better overall. M45 is slightly cheaper and has almost the same features if not better than the Sony......with Toshiba you can expand the memory up to 2GB vs Sony's 1GB. There is a claim posted by one of the Sony FS550 owners that you have to pay to unlock movies in order to use a Sony laptop to burn DVD....don't quite get this. Anyone with better explanation on this? Maybe Sony makes it harder to burn DVD using their laptops to protect its entertainment business. I know they did that with their MP 3 players...not sure about laptops.
I really need more feedbacks because I have to make up my mind soon due to the 14 days return policy....pls help!!!!

Hi, I am new on this forum.
Anybody compared this M45 to Fujitsu N3510 before buying? What are the pros/cons? -
The m45 version in the US sucks hard man.

Yes, I compared them at Fry's. Fujitsu seemed better built, have better screen, keyboard, layout etc. But it was running VERY hot doing nothing sitting idle. Toshiba seemed pretty cool. They seem to be the same price for the same kind of peripherals but Fujitsu has more options (7200rpm HD?) I do not care about gaming so graphics card is not an issue for me. I need one for photo processing so I need a fast HD.

I don't know about the fujitsu, but the Sony has a better case than the toshiba. It was stronger so if you move it a lot there is less of a chance of damage to the lcd and other components. I had an off brand laptop with a flimsy case and I just never moved it.
