This laptop I just got has a Celeron M 1.5ghz,

what series(codename) of CPU's is supported to upgrade?

I have another broken Pentium M laptop I want to swap the CPU in.... but I'm clueless as to what will go in there?

    I have a Broken Dell D600 with a Pentium M Centrino 1.6ghz Processor.

    Will that be supported?

    The M50s had "Dothan" processors.

If the 1.6GHz Pentium M you have is the '725' or '730' model, then it should work. The Celeron 1.6GHz is the 'Celeron M 380'.

All of those are Socket 479 processors.

I thought and it's been a while Dothans were socket 478 while Sonomas were socket 479.
