Hello, i was wondering if you all could help me please,
first, i would like to see how fast my cpu is working at any time, and when i right click my computer, it shows that my cpu is working at 1600 mhz...
w/ toshiba's power saver program, i have the cpu working on auto, and so when i load up notebook maximizer, sometimes i see it at a lower speed, but for the most part, it says its always at 1600mhz! is there anyway to fix this?
second, when im using the battery, i can't see how much time remains on my batt like most laptops... when i go into the powersaver prog, it says how much in hibernate or standby time is left, but not just when the laptop is running!
thanks in advance.

Hm, on my Qosmio I can see time. And for the other, I believe there is a program called CPU-Z or sometihng like that that you can download.
-
Try Mobile Meter - it gives your CPU speed, CPU temp, and HD temp.
-
is there anyway to fix it w/out d/ling 3rd party programs?
-
You could try watching your CPU usage (not your clockspeed) with TaskManager, but other than that, I really don't know of any other native programs that could tell you this information.

thanks xAMDvsIntelx
any ideas about the battery time remaning issue? -
Well, you can always look onto your battery indicator at the bottom right, but if it doesn't display the time, you'll need a 3rd party software solution to do so.
-
man how is it not gonna work on brand new system. its rather annoying, i have to just guage by how much % is left.
-
Don't be too angry - many notebooks have this odd problem, so you aren't the only one. However this is the first case of this happening in a Toshiba.
-
i see. so theres no way to fix it, not even reformatting or whatever?
do u have any suggestions on the program for the battery?
thanks -
I take it your notebook is a Satellite M50 Series, so it should have a Celeron or a P-M CPU. Now this is where it boggles me - all Intel CPUs give their battery % remaining and time as well. I've only heard cases where Turion CPUs can't read their time remaining, not any of Intel's CPUs. If you're really intent on this, you can try a reformat, but I don't know how much good it will do you. As of now, I cannot think of any software that would give you an estimated battery time remaining, only percentage remaining.

yeah satellite M55-S soemthin, from office depot. it is a centrino laptop. so yeah its pretty sad. ****it, i guess theres nothin i can do really.
-
Well, you could try a reformat - but I don't know what good it'll do you.
