So, far I removed during startup is:
1) Toshiba Web Camera
2) Toshiba Sleep (What is this, should I have kept this on start up?)
3) Toshiba Volume Regulator (What is this, should I have kept this on start up?)
4) TosReelTimeMonitor
5) Toshiba Service Station
6) Toshiba Eco Utility
7) Toshiba Zoom Utility
8) SmartFaceVWatcher (What is this, should I have kept this on start up?)
9) HD Background Process (What is this, should I have kept this on start up?)
10) Bluetooth Stack for Windows for Toshiba
11) HWsetup
12) HDMI Control Manager (What is this, should I have kept this on start up?)
13) Adobe Acrobat
14) Adobe Reader and Acrobat Manager
Things still enabled to start up in MSconfig, what is it and is it safe to not start up but still can use it when needed?:
1) Toshiba Power Saver
2) Intel ProSet/Wireless WiMAX Connection Utility (I don't have WiMax currently available in my area)
3) Intel Common User Interface (listed 3 times)

Has doing all this extended your battery life? Should i do the same with my m645?
-
Tell you the truth I have no idea. I did all that before even testing out the battery the first time.

Most of that, I have no idea what it is. The Toshiba Power Saver should be safe to disable, as it looks like just a relative of the ECO Utility. SmartFaceVWatcher, I'm gonna guess, is the face recognition login software. if you aren't using it, you probably don't need it. Sleep is likely a Toshiba hibernation function, exclusive and overriding of the Windows default one. The Volume Regulator looks like an automated volume control, but that (like the rest of this) is just a guess. No idea what HD Background Process is, but I'm hesitant to disable anything relating to the hard drive. I imagine the HDMI control manager is just a program set to function as the port controller for the HDMI port. If you're not using that port, you probably don't need it.
All of this is merely speculation, and I'm sorry that I don't know more. But I do appreciate that you made the list you did, as I've been surfing various forums for a couple hours now and have been unable to find a clear post detailing whether any of the toshiba programs can be safely disabled. I guess it would've been faster to just go through trial and error, but now that i've found this, i hopefully won't need to resort to that.
Thanks again!
