This laptop has been pretty good to me at the beginning but now, its starting to show its bad side. When I first got it, no problems showed at all. Then towards the third month, the fan would like a noise as if something is loose at that end, and the monitor would flicker. The only way I can get rid of the noise coming from the fan is to press down the top surface when I have three or more programs open. Usually, playing a game w/o any other programs open on the laptop would trigger the noise too.
I read many people experienced the high frequency pitch coming from Toshiba new Satellite laptops, but never these problems. I know I should have the monitor check out at least, but what if I returned it to where I bought the laptop but only to experience more problems afterward?
Any comments or stories would be greatly appreciated![]()

Hmm...
Try using your notebook on an external monitor and see if the external monitor flickers - if it does, it means your notebook's GPU is shot. -
I don't have a source to an external monitor, but something new happened to this monitor. It turned purple!! The whole screen turned purple and I couldn't do anything except to press the power botton to turn it off and restart.
does the colour on a screen means anything?
