    1. Does the NB205 have a wireless switch on/off?

    2. I know that the NB205 can be upgraded up to 2gb. What ram card can I use to upgrade it?

    3. Does the NB205 have a touchpad switch on/off?

    Thanks for the answers.

    Hey,

    1. There's no physical Wifi turn on/off switch but I believe you can turn Wifi off by doing Fn + F8. I haven't tried it but that's how I turned on Wifi when I first got the netbook.

    2. I asked this question in the hardware upgrade forum. I dled CPU-Z and found the original (Samsung) memory. Then I got this from NewEgg. I think there are free shipping options for the same type of memory. I just got the PC2 6400 laptop memory but I'm not sure if that's necessary (ie maybe you can get a PC2 5300 one? Idk.)

    3. There's no physical turn on/off but you might be able to configure the trackpad in the program Toshiba gives you. I'm not sure about this though.

    Hope this helps!

FN+F8 turns wireless and bluetooth on and off. FN+F( turns the touch pad on and off.

Is there a way for the battery symbol to tell the time left instead of %? My Asus 1000HE give both. Not a big deal, just wondered.

    OH EMM GEE

Thanks very much erin and bulldog.

Well I dont really know how to tell the time from the percentage but
what I do with my dad's laptop is just guesstimate. His battery is rated
3 hours of regular use (80% brightness, multi tasking, no movies) so when
it reaches 50% i just guess i have about 1h10min - 1h30min left of battery life.

    Hope that helps. and thankyou.

There are no hardware switches. This incidentally is a pain if you switch to Windows 7 right now, since these devices are turned on/off via software and software support is limited. For example, in W7 I can't find a way to power down the WiFi adapter.

I do notice that the Wifi connects at 150mbit for me, and I get transfer rates approaching 10 megabytes per second of pre-compressed data, which is well beyond what I would expect with 802.11b/g which is what this is advertised as having.
