Well I just ordered the 205 Sable from Newegg. I called and they said they had it in stock so I placed the order. We shall see. The reviewers sure do like this Netbook. My wife has the Asus 1000HE and I really like it, especially yhe battery life. The Toshiba seems to have the best touch pad out according to the reviews and a longer battery life.

i just returned this one, due to *excessive* heat and fan noise.
Man i had a great expectation for this netbook..
Asthetic is awesome. very thin and pretty, however, workmanship is not perfect, i noticed some gap between body and keyboard cover. also 6 cell battery wiggle a bit.

Hope mine was only one with these defects.

I certainly hope yours is not the norm. None of the reviews I read mentioned that. Did you get another one or something else?

Bulldog - I received mine yesterday and I really like it. The only Q/C issue I found was a small scratch on the left side of the palm rest. I did un-install the Toshiba wireless config utility-thingy then enabled the wireless card (Atheros) with a Fn key and away it went. The build quality is great - I pulled the factory drive (to image it onto another drive) and the drive cover door is metal. The battery was at 80% charge out of the box - I ran it for prolly two hours and charged my iPod overnight - it was at 47-48% this morning when I booted it. I think you will enjoy it.

Just ordered mine from Amazon- awaiting delivery. Any follow-up as to how you like it or any problems? What mouse are you using?

Mine is great. I've had it since early July and travelled extensively with it and the only issue I've noticed is the bezel above the webcam has rubbed against the mouse buttons causing some scratching on both parts - only aesthetic scratches, doesn't impair functionality. I recently put Windows 7 on it and the experience is much improved over XP. That is with 2GB RAM. Since I bought it in Asia (NB200 there), it has the 3 cell instead of the 6 cell battery, which gives me 3-4 hours of use.

I've seen the scratching of the palm rest by the lid mentioned elsewhere (I think it was in a YouTube review). Does anyone know whether the silver colored plastic of the NB205 is molded in or is it painted?

Another thing I was wondering... How much does an SD card stick out of the slot when inserted? I think I would prefer the SD slot on the side, where most other netbooks and laptops have it.
