* 1.66GHz Intel N450 Atom Processor
* 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM Memory
* 250GB Serial ATA Hard Disk Drive (5400RPM)

This is a new Netbook on the market that i ordered yesterday. The cheapest price i found online was basically right from Toshiba.
review: engadget review
Has newest atom processor and also stated to give u 11 hours of battery. Has 802/11N but NO BT .. which kinda stinks but u can get a USB plugin for BT from ebay for real cheap.
my runner up was the ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE-PU17
Asus 1005PE
i picked the toshiba because the reviews on the build quality were better, nicer KB and touchpad and non glossy coating (fingerprint magnet). Also heard that csr support and tech support was better compared to Asus.
The asus is pretty much the same inside, except that it is stated to have 14 hours of battery and comes with BT.
The toshiba price is $399 but in cart u get $20 discount = $379
Then with the purchase u get a mini retractable mouse and a carrying case.

the case alone is $25 on amazon
case on amazon
and one more option if u call and speak with sales person... free ground shipping.
I could of gotten from amazon for $399 with free 2nd day air if u try the trial for their yearly membership (see amazon site for more details) but i i wouldn't of gotten the free mouse or case and they also charge a 15% restocking fee on computers .. but amazon pays the shipping back to them if u dont like... restocking = $60
shipping item back for a return would be cheaper then $60.
Toshiba does not offer a restocking fee and they offer a 15 day return policy.
You have to pay for return shipping though.
so at the end this computer cost me $416 total with tax.
It will cost me another $47 to upgrade RAM from 1GB to 2GB from Amazon and another $79 if i decide to upgrade windows starter to windows home edition.
2GB RAM
i also thought about adding an extended warranty from square trade but not sure.
square trade
Three-Year SquareTrade Warranty $55
I will follow up with a review after playing with the item .... if anyone is interested ... hopefully the family grows here with this netbook and we can discuss upgrades/hacks/tips and tricks.
I already started researching how to change logon screen background and desktop background on windows7 starter.

What happened? Do you like it? I bought a brand new one for $240. I will get it by next week. I am seriously thinking I should have gone with an 11'' netbook though. I would like to hear what you think of it.

can u tell me where u got this netbook for that price ... now for that price it might be worth it ! -
I bought it from the microsoftstore.com, but that deal lasted for only a day.

I played with it for about 2 hrs at BB today. BB internet connection was very fast, and web pages looked just fine. The keyboard was a pleasure to use. I brought along 2 720HD files and they played without any problem. I forgot to play any internet video though. Will have to come back tomorrow to try that. I think I made the right choice for the price if I decided to stay with the 10'' size.
