My battery has been acting flaky lately. It would report 100% charge but only last about 10 to 15 minutes. No problem, I thought. The laptop is 5 years old and has been used a good amount, I figured it probably needs a new battery. So I went ahead and ordered a new battery from eBatts.com. I have ordered from them before for 2 different laptops and had no problems.

The battery shows up and sometimes the laptop detects it, but other times it does not. So I emailed eBatts and they told me to RMA it and they would send me another.

The new one showed up today and nothing, bupkis, nada. The laptop just doesn't see it at all. Going into power options' battery tab, it says "Not Present". It doesn't see it at all. I put the original battery back in and it it shows 80%. I unplug the power, the laptop shuts off.

    Any ideas?

I'd try getting a battery from a different dealer. 3rd party batteries are kind of flakey. Sometimes you end up with bad ones. I bought a 3rd party battery from this website once and it wouldnt detect on my laptop. I RMA'd it and received another one and havent had a problem since. Since your original battery is still detected looks like it's not your comp. Your laptop probably shuts off quickly because that battery is just old and cant hold charge anymore.

Another thing, remove the battery and check the battery connectors to make sure they're clean and dont have any residue/rust on them.
