If you are looking for a gaming laptop in that price range, look in the Sager forums. What is the price tag on this machine? Also, the slow 4200 RPM HD will hold it back.

The P105-S921 has an MSRP of $1999, although it seems to be available around $1850 (I believe amazon.com currently has a $150 off coupon). It seemed to score very well in 3DMark at least (in the 3dmark thread here, it seemed to be one of the top performers, especially in the price/performance category). I assume a lot of this is thanks to the 7900GS it is equipped with.

it will increase the loading time a little bit for games and demanding app but there's nothing to worry about regarding performance. you can look for a dell, an asus or a sager for the same price range or wait one or 2 months and get something better...

Toshiba P105-S921 is the best laptop ever. BUY IT IF YOU GET THE CHANCE!!

i just bought a toshiba 19" p105 for 2150$ and i gotta admit its the best computer i have ever gotten. it can play any game full speed with no problems. it has 160 gb hard drive space a nividia geforce go 7900 gs and 1022gb ram. it goes so fast! man i love this laptop. it even has a controller! i bought nfs most wanted and ran it on my fujitsu s6000 series laptop 1gb and some other good stuff...anyway it didnt run good at all. there was 1 problem after another. i downloaded nfs mw on my p105 and it ran so fast and the best graphics i ever seen. i downloaded over 26 full games on my laptop and it still runs like a charm. i love this laptop.

I got my P105-S921 yesterday and my first impression about the machine was not too good, i'm afraid. It's display was dull and cold. The brightness was extremely low. The audio output was rather low. I'm wondering if there were a few configuration settings I missed out on, which seems unlikely and unwarranted, given the price I've paid for this baby. Or if I'm plain unlucky on having landed a bad piece. I'm toying with the idea of returning the notebook and replacing it with a more business'ish Sony VIAO.
    Any words of advice, anyone??

I would try to get it changed for another p105. Mine is looking bright and perfect. I actually had to set it to use the lowest brightness setting. Audio is a bit low. Even CNET says it is low. But I use headphones because I don't like laptop audio. I enjoy bass and laptops dont have much of it.

The speakers are good. They sound great but as with all small speakers they don't carry bass out well. This is something I have noticed in all laptops. It's not a fault in the design but rather that small speakers cannot carry out bass well. There are technologies that help with that but I haven't seen them implemented in laptops.

dont doubt....it has been discontinued but recreated as the p100 st9212 with a 5400 rpm hard drive, and also now with blue tooth also. I followed the link etc a few postings down, and bought one....trust me testing confirms the processor falls between an amd64 3800 x2 and the amd64 4000 x2 trust me an an amd fan all the way....the graphics ran near 14000 with 3d mark03 still have 3d mak05 and 06 to run, but sure it will go over 6200 with 05 that posted by sz a few postings from here......this rocks....now they need to put a 7200 rpm hard drive in and they will be set..which I will do soon! But the price allows you too the st9212 is 1899, 100 less then the s921......and will drop when it is fully released from Toshiba. :)
