I am currently using a Toshiba A15 and I am looking to upgrade seeing as I have had this computer for over two years.
I found the Toshiba P35-S605 for what I believe is a pretty decent price $1400. The Toshiba webpage has it priced starting at $1599.
I just wanted to see if anyone had any info other than the normal specs on this model of Toshiba.
Thanks in advance![]()

It's an aging 17".
For the same price, you can get a Dell i9300 after a coupon with excellent specs -
How about upgrading to a faster hard drive and more memory? That would cost less than buying a new computer and would significantly increase performance.

i got that toshiba. If you want to replace the desktop, perfect for it. I love this laptop...so powerful. Downside? Graphics card. I know that it is possible to configure this laptop, so if u can, upgrade the Integrated card. Then buy RAM off of newegg.com, thats what im doing. For 100 im getting a 1gb ram to increase it to a 1.512RAM. Should be even more perfect with the 3.46, 3.47 GHz pent 4.

EDIT:WOW i made this whole article in the quick reply and i guess i took too long because when i pressed "reply" it said i wasn't logged in! gaaawd, well here i go again:
I have the P30 (which i am guessing is the Canadian version of the P35) except that mine has an ATi Mobility Radeon 9700 with 128MB dedicated RAM, and the one on the Toshiba site only shows integrated ATi graphics. Integrated graphics don't do well with anything more than light gaming and the likes. I'll go into detail with as much as i can:
Processor: the Mobility P4 w/ HT is a very fast processor, but beware that it is a P4 and not a P-M, meaning that it uses more power and can run very hot. You might notice this heat if you are using it on your lap, but if it is being used as a DTR on a desk, you really won't notice it unless you feel the back.
RAM: the included 512 did really well performance-wise, but when i upgraded to 1 GB the increased speed was VERY noticable when i was doing some heavy multi-tasking, which is always a good thing.
Speakers: they are just awesome. Compared to my buddy's Dell i6000d, there just was no competition. the Hardon Karmon speakers were very clear enough to hear crisp sound and actual bass, which usually doesn't exsist when it comes to notebook audio.
Screen: the 17" widescreen is great for home use, but you will really notice the size when you are carrying it around and using it outside of home. For home use though, i couldnt see myself looking into anything smaller when watching DVD's and browing the internet. The native resolution is 1440x900 is really clear and not too small at the same time.
All-in-all, the notebook has been really good to me. It's anybody's guess though why they call it "the ultimate gaming machine" when that P35 only has integrated graphics. Things you should think about would be the heat (can get really hot on the underside near the heatsink, really noticeable when on your lap), graphics (integrated performance lacks against dedicated RAM, but fine if you don't really play video games), weight (again, unless you use it mainly as a DTR and only carry it a little bit, then it wont matter) and battery (you can only get about 2:30-3hrs max when only using the battery. I usually keep mine plugged in and leave the battery out to preserve the battery life). Other than that, if you have any other questions, just lemme know! -
check out your local compusa, or even just give them a call...when i went into one today it was priced at $1199. Not bad, but the P4 processor had me worried about the heat.

So far I really like this computer, I got it a couple days ago and I am still quite pleased with my purchase.
