    Hello,

I am using a Toshiba P505-S8970 and have a couple of questions. I've only been using it for about 6 months but the screen seems a lot less bright than when I first got it. I have all brightness settings on high. Someone suggested to me it could be the inverter which is the light that controls the brightness. So if I were to replace the inverter, is it possible to replace it with a better one than the one that came with it, or does it have to be exactly the same?

Also, does anyone have assembly / disassembly instructions for this series? I cannot seem to get the keyboard out. I'll admit I am a little afraid to break something.

    Thank you for any help.

Hey thanks so much for replying and for the repair manual. I got the keyboard out in no time. Unfortunately the laptop is not under warranty so is there any differences in inverters that I could buy? Is any better than any other to maybe make the screen brighter than originally?
