Honestly, the Qosimo line is vastly over priced and this one is no different. The video card is only 64MB and is the 6600, which is fine, but not great. There are a whole lot better ways to spend $2000 for a gaming machine. You might post to the harware section with more details on your needs.

i played doom 3 at high settings at 1024*768 and got 49.1fps and this was also with norton antivirus runnin and the whole crap toshiba gave with it. this is a good score and is a good indicater because this is a new game. i also ran 3dmark05 with similar conditions and got 2100. 3d mark 01 was blazn with over 15000 once. this is a fairly good card to run games. need any more help jus ask... :)

    Hi,

I'm a user of the m40 SF3 as well. Just wonder did you notice any lag or "halt/pause" when you play doom 3? Mine has this problem and I think it is a sound issue?

The only way you can justify the Qosmio price is if you need component video out and video enhancing circuitry. From what I've heard, the Qosmio engine is no different from the video processing that all modern TVs have nowadays.

I am torned between a Qosmio F25 or a customized Satellite M40. My main concern is the 64mb Geforce Go 6600 like most people. I wonder if the performance between a 128mb or 64mb video ram is gonna make a huge difference.
I haven't been to Circuit City to look at a Qosmio F25 but does a 200:1(F25) and 400:1(M40) contrast make a huge difference too?
It is nice that F25 supports dual channel memory, which M40 does not, but I believe that it will not make a vast difference in performance.
I would appreciate if anybody has any comments on my thoughts.
    Thanks

The 15.4" Qosmio (F20) we get in Canada comes with 128 megs of video RAM. Why in the world would they choose 64 megs for such a high-end laptop? Bad decision if you ask me.

because they want u to buy the g25 which is over a grand more.. doesnt the 64mb 6600go also pull from system ram if it needs more? because system ram is 533mhz dual channel i would think that would help it a good bit

heres my opinion on it.. to fully customize the m40 to as good or better specs in everything other than the cpu costs $1660.. add near $200 tax which toshiba does on custom laptops and after everything i would guess ur paying close to 1900 after shipping and stuff

f25 which is what im seriously considering
$1725 shipped from a store since its prebuilt at a certain spec
