The clock generator is the Silego SLG8SP556V. I don't think any FSB setting programs support Silego, as I have never heard of this IC company before.

JB thanks for the information and help. I have emailed the person for SetFSB and gave him the information that he needs to see if SetFSB can work or can work in the future for the Toshiba Qosmio X305 and I am guessing it may be the same for people that also have the F55. It would be nice. Again thanks and God Bless :)

yesterday i asked silego about datasheets for SLG8SP556V (i have lenovo y550, it has this pll too) and today they replied:

i'm not buying but if anyone is interested, mail [email protected]
man who made SetFSB said that there is no problem in supporting this pll if only he gets datasheet.

I may be able to help.

It could be possible to use SLG8SP513V in setfsb and change the M/N prgramming registers manually.

I can help you with detailed instructions if you want.

i would appreciate any help you can provide :)

SLG8SP513V doesnt work with mine lenovo but if you know how manually change those registres it would be great.

So the first thing to do is to select a simmilar PLL in setfsb (e.g. SLG8SP513V).

Then click on the "diagnosis" tab.
    Now click on "getfsb".

If you don't get an error when you click getfsb, that is good and you can try to modify the registers.

If you do get an error, then try another PLL.
Remember, all you have to do is be able to press getfsb without an error.

Once you do that, can you post a screenshot of setfsb here so I can see your registers?

EDIT: Also you may want to read this:
    http://sulpherdragon.blogspot.com/2009/07/overclocking-qosmio-x300.html

I believe SLG8SP513V will work for you after I help you trouble shoot it.
I did a simmilar thing on my toshiba if you read here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=393027

Also can you tell me what happens when you select SLG8SP513V, press getfsb and then press setfsb?
Does the system lock up (freeze)?
Because that would be a good sign and I know how to solve that :)

    thankyou.

The final thing I need from you is this:

    Please press the diagnosis tab.
    then press getfsb.
then move the top slider a bit.
then press setfsb, use a digital camera to take of photo setfsb if the system locks up.

I would like to see what setfsb changes the registers to.

if i use SLG8SP513V and set fsb to 266 (smallest possible OC) it just goes back to 200 and none registers are changed.

when i use SLG505YC264BT system freezes but none of registers are changes aswell

however i've been playing a little bit and found out that when i change value of register 15 of SMbus to 02h SetFSB lets me change FSB and it stays at 266, value of register 14 changes from 89h to 81h but cpu-z and rmclock still show 200Mhz.

I hate to say this, but it looks like TME is enabled.

Most PLLs do have the TME mode.
And a lot of them just show the TME bit as "reserved" in datasheets.
I think your TME bit is bit 6 of byte 9 (like myne, this is common).
And I can see that your value for bit 6 is 1 (no overclocking).

I guess you would have to do the FSL pin mod.

you might also want to look at pin 11 (PCI2 probably).
Do a continuety test with a multimeter to see if there is a resistor attached to it.
There is a chance that pin is the TME pin.

i think that it's tme enabled too :(

SLG8SP556V has 72 pins, SLG8SP513V has 64 pins so datasheet of 513V is useless for me.

i'll try to get 556V datasheet and connect FS_B to ground.

thank you very much for your help.

    edit: one last queston:

what will happen if i put P8600 (fsb 1066) into my notebook? fsb will stay at 800?

if you have the PM45 chipset, your FSB will be 1066mhz with the P8600.

I have a Samsung R522 with a SLG8SP513V. I opened the the Laptop and saw it.
I could underclock my Laptop with Setfsb and the T6400 with 800 FSB but the Ram Speed would have been at 1066 and the RAM didnt make it. But I have been able to underclock it to FSB 100, Processor Speed 1 GHZ.
Now I have switched to a P8700 with 1066 FSB and the RAM would be a 1000 MHz if I put the FSB to 1333/333.
But with the new Processor I Cant change anything in SetFSB, if I put the FSB to 800/200 it Freeezes.

No I dont want to make a Pinmod.

I just want to know why it Worked with my T6400 and now it Fails.
    Do you have a Solution?

    Ok, do this:

    Open setfsb.
    Select your PLL.
    Click on the diag tab.
    Get a camera ready.
    Click getfsb.
Then make your change (OC or underclock)
Press setfsb, take a photo of setfsb fast before the notebook restarts.

Then when the notebook has restarted, make the changes to the bytes manually using your photo, pay attention to the bit that causes the lockup.
Restart again, this time dont change that bad bit, but finish changing the rest of the bits and it should be overclocked without freezing.

How can i change my RAM-Timings?

Already did it with Memset. But the CPU is too hot so i think it will stay at 2530.
Or do you you know if you can change it to 300 FSB or so.

333mhz is way too high, try 305 or 308.

thaiphoon burner lets you change the CAS timing also, and since you actually change the rams SPD the values are what you want from the moment you turn it on.

Also thaiphoon burner lets you change the frequency of the ram.

Anyway, maybe you just need more voltage, you could volt mod the CPU.

Just joined, been reading through these trying to figure out a way to oc with setfsb. I opened up my x305-q705 and it has a chip that says
    ICS
    9LPR5387BKLF

noticed the latest version of setfsb has one really close to this but not it exactly....hope this helps someone else too

Anybody else try this yet? How big of a risk is it if the wrong PLL is entered? I have another Q9100 ES QAVR (dubbed Q9200) and sold the Q9100 ES QS QGMU since it was locked. So I have the multi unlock option instead so thats cool. A little FSB OC miht be cool as well though.

Not much of a risk at all. If you select the wrong PLL you might get a BSOD or the notebook might lockup or turn off, but after a cold start it should be back to normal.
