    If you're just using it for storage, I'd got with a 5400RPM drive. It'll probably be cheaper and 5400RPM drives tend to be more quiet.

    I'm not super familiar with Toshibas, but I'm sure it'll work. I don't know if Toshiba employs some sort of caddy with their machines. If they do you'll need it.

    I fixed the HDD using cardboard. I took care that the drive holes were not covered. However, I hope the CPU is not located beneath that area. Anybody can point me to the location of CPU?

    do you guys know weather or not you can use both bays to run 1 OS with or do you basicly need to run 1 with the os then the other for storage?

    i am a lay person when it comes to running dual hdd but im also running the x505 with dual 500gb 7,200 7k500's but havent really figured out how to run them for performance

    You should be able to choose one of the HD's as a boot drive and install the OS on that one. I don't think you have to use what is traditionally the first drive bay for your OS, but I could be wrong.
