Has anyone encountered similar as in the picture.

This happened 2-3 months after buying the unit when I was repositioning the laptop on my desk with my finger at the rear, Heat has caused the vent plastics to become exceptionally brittle to the point they crack with barely any force.

I am presently in a discussion with Toshiba about this, in my opinion a gaming laptop that cannot handle heat and thus causes case faults is a design oversite and any damage should be covered by warranty, toshiba state however that the constant heat required to cause this is not expected use.

They obviously don't expect a user to use their laptops for the intended purpose but rather just admire the garish looks.

Anywhoo has anyone experienced the same ?

The laptop was never dropped never man handled etc

To be honest, I've never had this problem; my vents/fans/plastic casing are fine and I game on my x505 everyday. I just touched/pressed the "vent plastic" and it's still holding strong.

I would keep fighting with Toshiba and don't take no for an answer. I've heard Toshiba US can be stubborn, but with persistence they should help you out somehow.
[a lot of the lower tier support reps will try to send you away without any answers].

Good luck and keep us posted with any updates.

Will do just waiting on getting it back from Toshiba UK head office who presently have it repairing other heat issues.

I can see this going back to retailer under sales of goods act at this rate.
