This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Looks like Toshiba is coming out with the next generation of Qosmios [not a x775 refresh]; I'm guessing it will launch with the Intel Ivy Bridge CPUs. Looks like us x775 and especially x505 owners are now obsolete :p

    Well, it looks better than the current abomination, sure. I'm not entirely sold on it though.

    I'm guessing that thin body will still have problems with overheating.
    LED backlit, but still 17.3". Meh.
    Looks like metal, but probably textured plastic.
    Macbook style chiclet keyboard & touchpad...well, I think the touchpad is an improvement.
