Hi team,
I would like to ask if anyone has played around much with this? How is the performance etc?I tried searching for this computer on the site but had no luck. Apologies if this is known by another name as I am unsure if its a L850 or S855 etc... Therefore please provide me with some feedback please!
That will be so appreciated. Apologies in advance to the admin team if we are not allowed to post urls. Its just a url to Toshiba's official webpage, in case some kind soul wanted to have a look at it too.![]()

That is a fairly new model with the latest tech upgrades; so reviews are probably lacking.
Also, you never mentioned what you plan on using your laptop for, nor your needs in a laptop. However, I can comment on this model's technology and how it relates to most users.
===========================================================================================
It has a i7-quadcore Ivy Bridge CPU [Windows will view it has 8 cores due to 2 threads per core]. The CPU alone is one of the fastest you can get right now.

The 7670m AMD graphics card is pretty mediocre. Great for light gaming, and other multimedia purposes; but not ideal for heavy gaming.

750 GB 5400 rpm harddrive is on the slow side; although has tons of storage space. This will probably be the biggest factor on performance [affects program loading time; windows bootup time]. However, the harddrive can be easily replaced/upgraded by yourself at a later date.
6 GB 1600 MHZ ram is pretty darn fast. 6 GB is adequate for most people [it also has an upgrade max of 16 GB]. For example; my gaming laptop only has 6 GB ram and I have yet to be in a situation of ever surpassing that amount.
It has about 2-4 hours battery life. Not great, but typical for quad-core laptops.
Screen resolution is on the lower side. 1366 x 768 native resolution is fairly typical and quite reasonable; but if your a computer enthusiast, you may want a higher resolution.

Overall, it looks like a good laptop for someone who will use it around the home or in a workplace environment; ie plugged in most of the time. Has lots of performance potential and should be technologically relevant for a good 2-3 years.
Good luck and keep us posted with any questions. -
Hey mate,
Thanks for the good info. I came across this laptop at the NEX in Guam and it was going at a good price. Therefore was tempted! Agree with what you have mentioned above. Not going to do much. Just the usual FPS like COD MW3 and BF3. Can live with medium settings etc. But the price was the give-away for me to not buy a higher spec with a better graphic card.
