I am a novice here... I have a toshiba laptop and the cd-rom disappeared some time ago from the my computer area. If I put a movie in it, it spins for a minute then stops. If I put a regular cd in same thing. When I view my computer it is not there.

I have no clue how to reinstall it or find the driver. Any help is appreciated. No restore cds came with the computer, or other software. Thank you in advance for your help :)

Check the Device Manager in the System's settings in the Control Panel and see if it shows up there.
