The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Toshiba Satelite A105 won't boot past XP splash screen

    My Satelite A105-S4094 laptop will not boot up but hangs at the XP splash screen. I have tried using my recover CD but it also won't load - it gets to a screen that says Wait and hangs. I have been able to use a Bart boot CD. I suspect malware or spyware but don't know how to remove it if I can't boot up. Any response will be much appreciated.
