    Hi,

I bought a Toshiba C650 notebook about a year and half ago. The LED charging light was no longer light when I tried to charge the battery so I decided to buy a new AC adapter. Things were working fine for a week or so, now my battery wasn't charging that well. I thought maybe my battery was the problem. (So far spent about $55 in total).

It takes about 8 hours for my new battery to charge. When I turn on my laptop, while still plugged, the LED is not on therefore the battery isn't charging while I use using the laptop. In order to charge battery I need to shutdown the laptop and waiting several hours.

Is it possible that the problem is neither the power or the battery but something internal?

    Thank in advance

Make sure you have the latest BIOS, issue could be addressed with a newer BIOS.
Here's the Toshiba Support Page for the US: Toshiba Support - Homepage

I'm assuming you have a US model [you didn't give your exact model number with sub series]. You'll have to fill-in the drop down boxes after clicking the "Product Support" button on the Toshiba Support site.

Good luck and keep us posted with any updates.

    Hi Alex,

That is what I wanted to do, however my laptop believes that my laptop is not plugged in, therefore it doesn't begin updating the BIOS. As mentioned the laptop will not charge when turned on. I don't know how to get around this.
