I have the above model and have just discovered a wifi symbol below the A-Drive. Does this mean that I can have wireless access without the need for a Linksys card?

Possibly. My Thinkpad has the WiFi symbol, but no WiFi. Look in the manual or device manager. It should show up in one of those if you have it.

Yes you can , mine have one too as the 1410's are every well designed
and built with lots of access covers and a built in antenna .

However good old Toshiba choose to screw us by offering only b cards at a premium .

Suposudly you can't just use other mini pci cards because the bios is locked againts it to protect us from buying other then Toshiba crap .
