    Hi all.

Does anyone know if this notebook is out yet? And if it is, where in Europe could I get one?

    Thanks in advance.

The A100 series has been out since January in the US, so I'm assuming it's out it Europe. You could order one off of Toshiba's main site - I'm not too familiar with the retailors in Europe though.

    Thank you for your reply.

I have checked couple of Toshiba websites (US, GER, ITA, ...), and only Satellite A100 models I can find are the ones with Centrino platform. A100-168 is a new Napa platform with ATI X1600, and the only Toshiba site where I found this one was Italian. Unfortunately, they never replied to my email I sent them a couple of days ago, so I guess I'll just have to wait until this model becomes available in other countries as well :(

The A100 series doesn't come in the Napa platform, or at least not in the US. I suspect it won't be updated until later this month or sometime in March.

There's a new A100 notebook here in Portugal, which is set to came out pretty soon (next week, I think), the A100-158:
CPU: Intel Core Duo T2400 1,83GHz
    Memory: 1.024MB DDR2 (2x 512MB), Max. 2.048MB
    Hard drive: 80GB ATA100 5400rpm
    Drives: DVD±RW Double Layer
5 in 1 card-reader: SD Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMedia Card and xD-Picture Card.
    Screen: TFT 15.4" TruBrite WXGA 1280 x 800
Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 PCI Express 16x
    with up to 256MB (128MB dedicated + 128MB shared)
    Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g
    Bluetooth
    etc.

Official price is 1700 eur (~$2000), but some people have already seen them priced at 1550 eur (~$1850)

    Good? Bad? Any thoughts?

The hardware looks excellent to me - decent GPU/CPU for power. However, I'm not too familiar with its build quality - Toshiba does have some lower-end models of the A100 series, so I'd be wary - check your local retailor once it comes out and inspect it for yourself.

I'll most certainly check it out for myself. Toshiba's very popular here and I'm sure that as soon as this new one comes out it'll be all over the place.

It sure looks nice in the pictures, though :D
