I think that most people will say that it is a good model. From what I have read, and heard, it seems to have many different options, and can be configured with a wide variety of components. I'm not to sure of build quality, as I have never used one. See if you can go to a store, and see the notebook in person. You should be able to get a better idea of what it might be like that way. Hope this helps.

What exactly u wanna do with it ??? dude the A100 is a good model...END OF STORY....

Well I just want it to be long lasting and durable.
But I read many issues with A100 model , mostly that it turns off suddenly!
Also got 3 bad reviews here on the same model! http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061106093419AAPOUFG
That is why I am unsure...
I am also thinking of the LG F1-224EG -
I have a Toshiba A100-147. See my post in the Sticky poll....

ive had a long history with toshiba laptops. my first one was a satellite A70...with NO problems whatsoever even though there were alot of people who did have problems apparently...
my second was an M70, again with no problems
third was an M60, which was a beast of a machine agian with no problems
my current one is the a100, and with no problems.
build quality on all models was not the best, but my current a100 i have carrying around with me in my bag for a week now, constantly moving etc. it is still like the day i got. i think any laptop will hold up as long as you dont abuse it.
Toshiba Satellite A100-283 anyone? fast!!
