I have a Toshiba Satellite A105 laptop and the touchpad for the pointer has recently started malfunctioning. When I boot up my computer and load Windows, the touchpad is jumpy and you cannot really control where the pointer goes. In the past I've just been able to Shut Down and when I boot up again, the touchpad and pointer would return to normal within one or two tries. But currently my touchpad will not function normally after many many reboots. Is this a hardware problem or a driver/software problem? Has anyone come across this type of problem before? I haven't been able to get my hands on a USB mouse to plug in as I'm currently indisposed elsewhere. Any help on fixing this problem would be great as Alt+Tabbing through everything is a big of a pain.

And just to follow up, my pointer started out not working properly, and now after being booted up for 45 minutes it returned to normal. Anyone have any clue what is going on here?
