    Hi to All.

    Toshiba Satellite A135-S4427

Recently (22nd September, 07), after patronizing Dell & HP for over 5 years, I acquired a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4427 (factory re-conditioned by Toshiba America Information Inc., California) with pre-installed OS Windows Vista Home Premium. While I liked the laptop’s performance and features, on analyzing the pre-installed soft-wares, I have noticed that though the Owner’s Manual provided in PDF format clearly states the option to create “Recovery Disc” using the desktop Icon “Recovery Disc Creator”, the same is not provided by the manufacturer. However, while accessing the hidden partition where the system files are stored for recovery, the menu asks the recovery disc to recover the system back to its default condition.

Due to the Windows Vista’s limitation to third party soft-wares, I am compelled to install the old OS Windows XP professional. While I am succeeded in dual booting, due to non-availability the required drivers for Windows XP, in Toshiba’s site, my objective could not be achieved as desired.

I therefore request the forum members to contribute and guide the source of Windows XP drivers for A135-S4427, the alternative or tips for creating the "Recovery disc" and the email id of Toshiba America Information Inc. so that a direct approach could be made.

I know that just recently, Toshiba has stopped providing recovery dvd's, and therefore making the consumer make their own through “Recovery Disc Creator”.
Because your laptop was refurbished, it should have come with the revcovery disks, but they didn't and put in some instructions instead but your software was not loaded.
