I work in an IT department and recently Ive just started to dive into laptop repair. A VP has given me this Toshiba laptop to fix, The screen intermintently flickers or sometimes extremely dim.
I told him id check the connections and then start ordering parts starting with cheapest to most expensive... I took the LCD bezel off and the wire going into the LCD Power Inverter just fell right out. I plugged it back in and it feels extremely loose, like it could easily come right off by opening and closing the LCD a few times.
After plugging the Cable back in, i fire up the laptop and again the LCD is in perfect working order. bright/glossy -- image looks excellent. My question to you guys, is how do i keep it plugged in? I was thinking of applying some adhesive to both connectors that feel loose. Something thats strong enough to hold it in, but something that wouldnt prevent future maintenance if we needed to replace an LCD or something... The included picture points arrows at the connectors that are "loose" the power inverter though is very loose a very gentle tug and it falls right out of the connector. the connection at the motherboard also doesnt hold well either. gentle tug and slides out.

If you're diving into the realm of laptop repairs, why not just replace the parts? The cables and inverters can be found on ebay relatively inexpensive for laptop parts.
