I bought Toshiba Satellite A210-19K last week. It was already with Vista OS installed. I have set them up with battery, and then everything went well but now when I put it on baterry I have next problem:

On windows start up I get this picture, and after that it's "erased" if I use anything that covers a hole screen like etc Explorer. Similar thing happens when I'm changin programs with my TV card, swichin/closing visualization on winamp only then picture is showed a part of the second. I didn't run 3dmark nor played game with a battery. Used Toshiba Diagnostic tool and it went fine. Again, there is no problems when PC is plugged with power cable.

Did someone have a slimilar problem and how can i solve it? Where could be a problem? Baterry, graphic card or drivers? Thanks for help!

i had a similar problem with my ATI 9700 pro desktop graphics card. The monitor had the same distortions as you show above and it was my graphics card.

well it seems like you just bought your laptop, I'd say send it back or take it back to the store you got it from and show them the problem

Looks like your graphics card's memory, or possibly even the graphics core, is shot. Get a replacement laptop.

Thanks people! For sure I'm gonna replace it. But can someone explain why this happends only when Notebook is on baterry? I played game, played HD movie, finished 3Dmark06 on power cable and there is no problem, none. I'm curious, can someone explain why is that?
