    Hey,
I'm a student who has been looking for a smallish laptop, and after many
netbooks and over priced ultra portables i came across the Equium(thats
specially branded satellites in the UK for PCworld/currys/dixons) u400-124. It
seems to perfectly suit what I am looking for, but before I go out and buy it,
I want to know what owners of the laptop think about it.

I know it has a 1.8 GHz clock speed, but I'm not sure how good that is. All
I'm basing it on is that my advent 7105 has a similar clock speed and is 2 and
    a half years old :err:.

Have any owners updated the ram on theirs? I have a friend who builds PCs
in his spare time(and for school:GEEK :) so putting it together shouldnt be a
    problem

I'd also like to know, if it's possible, how hot it gets on your lap, how loud the
fan is and, generally, how long does the battery last?

Of course, any other little comments would be greatly appreciated! ;)

    Thanks
    V.P
