When using the AC Adapter and in normal mode the laptop restarts itself every 20 to 40 min. The battery will only last around 1hr & 45 min. and there are no problems with battery only. Also, in Safe Mode and using the AC Adapter there are no restarts. I have tried another similar AC Adapter and the same thing happens. Again no problems in Safe Mode. What could be causing this? I did see in another thread that someone replaced a capacitor, NEC/TOKIN 0E907 on another model. Would this be the same capacitor for my computer and where can I get one?

Make sure your fan/vents are clean of any accumulated dust; it could be due to thermal shutdowns from overheating.

HI, I'm having almost the exact same problem with the L355-s7812. I get random restarts on battery+AC and on AC, but not when running just AC. It likes to do it when waking from sleep alot too. On another forum they're suggesting it may be a capacitor. Did you resolve this issue with your computer?

I'm having the same issue here.
Weird thing: for a while, if i kept the computer busier it worked fine longer. Now it doesn't make a difference anymore.

My question would be, if it works in safe mode then why the capacitor?

I would try deleting all the MS power management ACPI's under batteries in Device Manager like (Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery). I have three. Your laptop should reinstall them on reboot. Maybe something got corrupted.

To be safe, back up all your important stuff now! Do you have a way to do a clean install of (W7?) if all goes south?
