    Hello guys,

Recetly I have bought Toshiba Satellite L850-13R and I have problem with my internal video card (Intel HD 4000 graphics) the laptop cannot detect it. It shows me only my external video card (AMD Radeon 7670M). Not Device manager nor Everest decets it. I have tried to install all drivers, but Intel's driver for this video card shows an error: "The computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software" I am 100% sure that this is the right driver (according to Intel's site). Does anyone with the same laptop have the same problem? Thanks in advance!

    Best regards Daniel

Does that computer have an AMD switchable graphics configuration? If not perhaps the Intel HD 4000 is disabled and cannot be used.

What does mean "AMD switchable graphics configuration"?

Switchable graphics means you can manually or automatically switch between the AMD graphics to Intel graphics. If your computer does not have switchable graphics, then it cannot use the Intel graphics option.

Were you ever able to use the Intel HD 4000 graphics? If not, then as Namaiki stated, it could be that it is disabled; as the AMD 7670m is a much more powerful graphics option. I wasn't able to lookup your exact model, but I found a similar model: L850-13M. It does not state switchable graphics capability in it's specifications, so it may not be an option. I would go back to your computers manual and verify if your model has switchable graphics; as not all laptops have that ability.

By the way, both the Intel and AMD are internal graphics cards. The Intel is integrated into the motherboard, the AMD is a dedicated graphics card that is an addon onto the motherboard.

Good luck and keep us posted with any updates.

    Hi, Daniel

I have exactly the same notebook and exactly the same problem... Still no idea how to enable Intel HD 4000 :(
C'mon, this is ridiculous. Why on Earth I can't choose which video card to use in BIOS??

I have one idea actually: what if we disabled ATI Radeon HD 7670M in Device Manager? Maybe then it would automatically enable Intel HD 4000? Or I'm missing something?
Let me know what you think or maybe you have any other ideas?

This review states the Satellite L850 with the i7-3610QM and 7670m does not have switchable graphics; thus only the 7670m is available
    Toshiba Satellite L850 Review
Like I said above, not all laptops have switchable graphics [even if it comes with an Intel HD 4000 chipset]; there is no work around for this. For example, my Toshiba Qosmio has both the Intel HD 3000 chipset and a GTX 460m nvidia graphics card. However, the Intel HD 3000 chipset is disabled; no way of using it.

However, you should consult your owner's manual to verify whether it in fact does have, or doesn't have, switchable graphics.

freeuser16 I think that later it will be possible to use Intel card. When some BIOS update comes out. Thank you for all answers.

Not necessary.. If there are no LVDS, VGA and HDMI connectors attached to Intel HD card in this notebook BIOS update won't help. Also Toshiba guys might be just too lazy to enable this possibility in BIOS. One thing is sure - if it's disabled, then definitely not without a reason.
